Unique Data from a Secondary Data Connection in Repeating Section

Hi All. I am relatively new to Infopath 2007 and have been scouring the forums for something that is similar to my problem however I have had little luck. Please feel free to point me to posts I may have missed.

I have a Repeating section which contains 2 fields ( Evaluator-Name, Evaluator-Title ) coming from a secondary data source in a SQL Database.

In short, the Evaluator-Name field is a dropdown. Once the Evaluator-Name is selected, the Evaluators title appears in the "title" field. I have created this association by simply setting a value of " @Title[Evaluator-Name = @fullname] " for the Title field. "fullname" is the Evaluator-Name data source value. It is obvious that this will work fine for the first row in the section table however as I add more rows to the repeating section the "title" is still calculated on the value of the first record. I am aware that, as it stands, this is exactly the behaviour to expect, however I have no idea on how to resolve this. Note: Each of the employees should have different titles ( only the first is an actual car park attendant ).

I have shown this behaviour in the screen dump below.

    Repeating Section Data

How do I get the repeating row values to be unique ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Anthony,

Can you try removing the value @Title[Evaluator-Name = @fullname] you set in the second field and replace the formula by following these steps:

    1. Click Insert Field or Group..
    2. Select the Title field from your secondary data source.
    3. Click Filter Data...
    4. Click Add.
    5. In the first dropdown, select Evaluator-Name from your main data source.
    6. Select "is equal to".
    7. In the second dropdown, select fullname from your secondary data source.
    8. Click OK to close all the dialog boxes.

The formula should look something like:

    Title[current()/../Evaluator-Name = fullname]

Let me know if it works.

    Thanks,
