Hello!
I designed quite a few forms using InfoPath 2007 which have already been successfully deployed.
Each of these forms is equipped with a common header which comes outside of the printing area as seen in the InfoPath form designer.
Since the header had to confer to a specific standard in its appearance and data, this was unavoidable.
Forms were designed to be used as stand-alone and were not designed to be open in a browser.
When a user runs and fills in the form, the form is printed to the PDF (Microsoft Save As PDF or XPS Office 2007 Plug-In).
I encountered no problems until recently when users started to complain one by one about truncation in the PDF documents.
I made a thorough research through support forums on the internet but, so far, could not find a suitable solution to this problem.
If I am correct, InfoPath is using the same engine as Microsoft Internet Explorer to render and to print HTML
(though I am not sure how true this might be for non-web enabled forms such as mine).
My forms were initially deployed with IE6 and users are using IE7 at the moment.
I believed that this could be the cause of the problem so I tried to uninstall IE7 back to IE6 and even to install to IE8
but none of these attempts solved the problem.
I suspect the cause must be one of the Windows/Office 2007 updates.
Another point for consideration: For testing purposes, I designed a very simple form containing only one section
with a textbox element. The section automatically adjusted its dimensions to fit in the printing area and a textbox is
just an inch wide.
In print preview, the section is displayed in its whole. It is also printed as such.
When exported to PDF, however, the left margin is slightly truncated when printing with MS XPS Document Writer
but not when printing with CutePDF. (However, my problem, as described above, persists even with CutePDF).
I hope that someone might have a better insight in how to fix this problem, any help is much appreciated.
