Very Frustrated: Is there a way to change multiple fields at once? Also refresh XML?

I have a form that has 500+ fields.  Is there any way of changing multiple fields at once?   For example, I want to go in and change the placeholder text for some of the fields.  Say I wanted to change 40 of the fields, is there a way to set the placeholder text to be the same for all of them, or do I have to go in and do each one individually?   I keep running into this issue over and over again.

I also set up an XML file to be the data source for a bunch of the dropdowns.  Now I changed the XML file and the changes are not reflected in the dropdowns.  If I go in and drop the XML file from one field and add it again, the changes are reflected.  It is very time consuming to do this for each and every field.  Suggestions?

     Thanks.

well there doesnt seem to be a way to change placeholder text form multiple fields at the same time, If you are feeling a little bolder you can go in and change the palceholder text in view.xml file, that will be easier to do.
