    View will not submit

im getting a bizarre error that i just cant seem to sort out...

my form has 3 views , each a sign off after the initial submit. the first 2 views can be submitted fine.. a radio button choice is made then submitted..

however the final view doesnt submit... i get this error

    InfoPath cannot submit the form.
The form cannot be submitted because it contains validation errors. Errors are marked with either a red asterisk (required fields) or a red, dashed border (invalid values).

it doesnt tell me the field it doesnt like or show any red borders... as far as im aware the view is identical to the others apart from the radiobutton name for signoff. the rules on submit are the same too.

all data shown in first 2 views shows in final view form.. no blank fields.. calls same web service updatre method...

    can anyone help with suggestions?

Data validations hold throughout views, Datavalidation on some field will be failing, and that field might not be even visible on the current view.

you should be able to get the field name by clicking the show details

no it only shows that error message so i dont know the field in error

i tried clearing the view and copying over one of the others but seemed to make things worse... now the form wont submit at all...

ok i sorted it in the end by restoring the view from another

i think this view was referencing a data field somewhere or had done...

another anomaly is upon publishing i still see conditional validation on some view fields even though i removed them. do these cache at all on the server?

i think i will need ot clear the whole view and create from another to address this issue as well

conditional formatting holds for a field on a view, they dont hold across views, so it might be that you removed conditional formatting on a field in one view. you will need to remove conditional formatting per view.
