Clone form with all it's values

    Hi,

I want to  create button on the form.

So when you click on it, it'll save all the form and open new form which is identical to the original one with all selected values / filled controls.

     Thanks a lot,

    Stas.

    Hi Stas,

If you are using InfoPath 2007, you can create a rule with an action to launch a new form and point it at the URL for your previous form. To make this data driven, you either need to hack the XSF or write code. The other option is to just remove the Processing Instruction from the XML so that InfoPath thinks its a new form. To do that requires code to remove the processing instruction. We can show you how to write that code, but need to no more about your environment, etc. What version of InfoPath are you using? Do you submit to SharePoint? If so what version? Etc.

    Thanks!

I'm looking to do something very similar.  Here's what I'm trying to achieve.

    1. User opens InfoPath 2007 form from the SharePoint library

    2. User clicks a button on an InfoPath 2007 Form and it automatically creates a new form with all the values and attachements (although it would be great to be able to have a couple of the fields be cleared out)

    3. User maks the necessary changes to the form (usually just changing a couple of drop downs)

    4. User clicks the "Save" button and the new form is automatically saved back to the SharePoint 2007 library where the original form was opened with a new name. (I use hidden fields (Name/Time) to create the name.

If you need anything else to help me solve this problem just let me know.

    Thanks,

    D

Re: Clone form with all it's values

    Hi,

I'm trying to do the same as Stas.  We are currently using InfoPath 2010 and Sharepoint 2007, with plans to upgrade to Sharepoint 2010 soon. Is there a way to clone without having to write code. If not do you have a sample code to accomplish the task?

    Thanks!
