I need to be able to link to open already saved form results from the form, but I don't get the hyperlink working.
The hyperlink is in a repeating table bound to a repeating element called mss_step. There is a field in the table bound to mss_step/mss_step_subelem. In the next column I added a hyperlink with following values:
Link to:
* Datasource
concat('file://d:/uc/', my:mss_step_subelem, '.xml')
Display:
* Datasource
my:mss_step_subelem

I insert a filename in the mss_step_subelem field and when I tab out, the hyperlink diplays it correctly. But when I click the hyperlink, nothing happens. How do I make clicking the hyperlink open the url? If I insert the same url into IE address bar, the file is opened.

Welcome to the Board!
I tried a bit about this, my results are
1. If the link is http link link its opening fine.
2. If i give a file link like "file://d:/uc/abc.xml" its not working.
3. If it is "file://systemname/d$/uc/abc.xml" it is working.

I am not sure why it is not working in case 2. Probably a bug in InfoPath or we are missing something here.

How do you apply this to opening a file in a shared folder on a networked computer?

This should help you, just remove '$'
"file://systemname/d/uc/abc.xml"

I low-teched it. If I use a file attachment control I can just attach a shorcut as a file and It'll open my docs across my network computers.
