Set a Contact Sector equal to [Me], so that the user can only view thier Forms.

I have this InfoPath form published to Forms Library and have a User Contact Selector and a Supervisor Contact Selector in the form. Once the user submits thier form to his/her supervisor using the contact selector, I want the Supervisor only to see the forms that has thier name as a Supervisor. That way the Supervisor can only see the forms they need to approve.

If I set The Supervisor contact selector = [Me], I get an error every time that says....Filter value is not a valid text string.

I don't have any problem with filtering by the user, because I can use created by: for the user. Please help. I have to finish this project soon.

    Hi Mike,

The problem is that InfoPath does not promote the contact selector field to SharePoint as a "Person/Group" field which is what it needs to be for the [ME] filter to work.

You can accomplish this with code, see this blog: http://blogs.msdn.com/uksharepoint/archive/2009/04/17/quick-tip-storing-infopath-contact-selector-values-in-sharepoint.aspx

You can also accomplish this with a SharePoint workflow that simply copies the contact selector value into a SharePoint only column that is Person/Group datatype and then filter the views using that field set to = [ME]
