Hi there its my first post here yay ! :D

i have a problem, i was told to investigate this....

i have a textbox in my form its like a search i enter the brand

example: 

"Touring"   and then i have a drop down box that is connect to a table that is going to get all the "touring" models like "touring 200" "touring 100" etc etc :D

and then when i choose the model its fills the form with the info of the models color etc etc

anyone can help me ???

So what you need to do is type in a search term and then query your data source for items related to the search term.  If you want to do this, then it depends on what your data source is.  You didn't give us any of that information.

Where is the data that you want to query?  What sort of data connection have you created for it?  Does that data connection have the capability of querying partials?

The part where you select an item in a dropdown and populate other fields is easy.  It's also easy to filter out items from repeating data that you've already downloaded into the form, but if you want to pre-filter server side, then that's a different story.

Its a Local DB(my PC) :)

SQL Server Connection, ADO Database Connection

Yes

here is the Query i use for the partials - select "ProductID","Name" from "Production"."Product" as "Product" where "Name" Like '@Name%' 

but when i fill the textbox the dropdown isnt filled with the brands like i insert Flat --- and in the dropddown it should have Flat Washer 1, Flat Washer 2 etc

How have you configured the dropdown?  It should be set to retrieve from an external data source unless your SQL connection is your main data source.  After choosing the proper source, you should select the repeating group of that data source in the Source field, and then choose the value and display name fields as needed.  If the parameterized query to SQL is working, then the available data set should be filtered.  If it's not, you can still filter it inside the dropdown by clicking "Filter" when selecting the Source node.
