    DBXL Eval Install Problem

Trying to install the eval on server 2003 with SQL 2005 installed on the same box and getting the following error:

Product: Qdabra Database Accelerator v2.3 -- Error 1001. The installation failed, and the rollback has been performed. --> Error initializing DBXL database. --> The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive. --> Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. --> An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host, (NULL), (NULL), (NULL).

The funny thing is I can see the db on the sql server.

    Please advise.

    Re: DBXL Eval Install Problem

I'm sorry you're having issues with the installation of DBXL v2.3.

I haven't seen that specific error; depending on the environment these errors seem to vary. Are there any entries in the Event Viewer that might give us some additional clues? Also, are you using Sharepoint?

In the meantime, here are some possibilities:

    • If using Sharepoint, make sure that you installed to the correct website (and not a disabled site). Also, make sure the Network Service account is in the WSS_WPG group.
    • Disable the shared memory protocol for SQL Server using the configuration tool before trying the installation again.
