I've never used InfoPath before and I'm completely lost at this point. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreiate it.
Goal: The primary user (lets call him Bob), will need to request information from various people throughtout our company by way of Outlook (there's no shared drive). The form is basically a survey (check boxes and multiple choice) that I'd like to automatically import to something like Access/Excel/Etc from Bob's Outlook.
Problem #1: My company's default security settings disable HTML and Bob would have to get special permission to change this.
Problem #2: Sending an Infopath form instead of an HTML form generates an error dealing with digital signatures and prompts me to send it as an attachment.
Problem #3: Bob is much higher up in the company than I am, and he has what I would call an "average" knowledge of computers. Simple = Good
I tried requesting the information from Access (Right click on a table and there's an option to "Collect and Update Data via Email") , but Access won't let me customize the e-mail form (The form it makes has a series of text boxes instead of Check Boxes/Multiple Choice, String values could cause issues with data analysis). I can send the form as an e-mail attachment, but I'm not sure how to automatically import it to a database after it's returned to me.
Like I said, any help would be appreciated. I've found alot of information on how to send forms, but practically none on how to process them upon return. At the moment I have a Rule to stick them into a "InfoPath Form Items" Folder in Outlook, but for some reason even the option to "Promote Form Properties" is greyed out, so I can't even view the data withing Outlook.
Thank you for your time,
