Serving an InfoPath File from IIS6

We have placed some .xsn files out on our intranet running IIS6 and when users click on them to download those files they are prompted for authentication. They should already have access to these files... is there anything unique about these files? I as administrator on the server can pull them up just fine. Also does anyone know what the MIME Type should be for InfoPath files listed in IIS?

    Thanks again.

A couple of questions -- did you "copy" these files there, or did you publish them there (i.e. to thehttp:// site and not the c:\inetpub site)

Do you have FrontPage Extensions installed?

I've had no problem (provided FTExt are installed) publishing a form to a web site, and then accessing and using it from there. I will however get asked to authenticate. When I type in valid auth, I can use the form, otherwise I get a readonly copy of it opened up.

I am having the same problem. I published the form and I do have the FPSE installed on IIS6 webserver. As the Admin, I can open the form without being asked to re-authenticate. Domain users, however, are asked for Username and PW. They can "Cancel" twice and the form opens. I tried altering Security Permissions on .xsn file and gave everything listed "Full" control and still no change.

I do not understand why users should have to re-authenticate as indicated by the MVP. Does anyone have a solution?
