    InfoPath Forms Services Error

Background: I have a new MOSS 2007 SharePoint extranet Site Collection that allows employees at Texas A&M University to submit data about their upcoming international travel. We have the basic two authentication provider zones: default (for internal users) and extranet (for users outside of our network). The Infopath 2007 form uses the submit button in the toolbar (no button control) to submit the data to a SharePoint list.

Error:  External users are getting an error when they try to submit the form. They get the pop-up box with the error message that reads: “an error occurred while the form was being submitted.” The form submits fine from computers inside our network, but a professor on campus and my own home computer get this error message.

Has anyone any thoughts or solutions for this? Does this have something to with anonymous access enabled?

Not enough information. Are you using InfoPath forms or Web-based forms? If the latter, did you check the SharePoint error logs? We'd have to look at your SharePoint config. This is not really a forum question since it requires diagnosing. More of a SharePoint debug issue. Purchase a support incident from Qdabra.com (under Product -> Support) and we'll help you debug it.

Answered the same on MSDN.  It can't just be used in both places, because it needs to be published where it's being used (re: extranet).  You also need to make sure your data connections are relative by converting them to UDC files and storing within a Data Connection Library.
