    GetMyInfo Web Service Error

Apologies if this has already been addressed and I've missed the answer...

I just installed the DBXL trial and am working through the "Getting Started" document.  In "Task 2" (adding the AD lookup), I've inserted the two lookups to the GetMyInfo web service; but when I click "Preview" in InfoPath, I get the following error:

The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: GetMyInfo
InfoPath cannot run the specified query.
The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server:

System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> System.ApplicationException: You have not installed a license to use the ADUserInfo service.

I have the service installed in our MOSS 2007 space, and when I try to hit the web address (http://moss.fqdn.com/qdabrawebservice/ADUserInfo.asmx/GetMyInfo) in a web browser on the server (Server 2003 SP2), I get a "HTTP 500 Insternal Server Error".  When I try to hit the web address from my local (Windows XP) machine, I get a "InvalidOperationException: Request format is unrecognized for URL unexpectedly ending in '/GetMyInfo'" error.

I have, obviously, done something (probably silly) wrong; but any guidance would be sincerely appreciated...

Hello, and thank you for trying our product.

Are you able to open: http://moss.fqdn.com/qdabrawebservice/ADUserInfo.asmx?

I imagine that this is a problem in the installation and not with the AD web service itself. Did you encounter any errors when installing? Can you check Event Viewer to check on the presence of any Qdabra errors?

DBXL v2.3 comes with a trial license, and this trial license does allow for Active Directory queries. My only guess is that something went wrong in the installation and the trial license did not get installed or configured correctly. You can check on the license by opening DAT (http://<servername>/QdabraWebService/Forms/DAT/template.xsn) and clicking on Configure Licenses.

    Re: GetMyInfo Web Service Error

On both the server and my local workstation, the ADUserInfo.asmx link opens the service description page for the web service.  Following the link for the GetMyInfo operation opens the description page with SOAP invocation examples.  On the server the page also includes a "Invoke" link which, when you click it, generates a "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error" page.

Opening the DAT and clicking "Configure Licenses" returns a DBXL administration page that says "No License Packs Installed".

    Hi --

Sorry for the inconvenience! I'm going to send you a trial license and instructions on how to add it. I'll just send that to the email address associated with your InfoPathDev account, if that's okay with you?

The license file appears to have resolved all of the issues.  Thank you for the prompt solution!
