How do I apply formatting to a disabled control

I have a form that submits to a SharePoint form library.  I have some controls on it, that are disabled if certain conditions are met using conditional formatting, so that the form cannot be edited once it is submitted.  The problem is that this makes the values of the form very difficult to read, particularly when the form is printed.  Is there a way that I can leave the control disabled, but have the text for the control be black instead of gray? This is for a drop-down control.

    Hey slingeronline,

I am not sure if there is a way to change the color of the control. An idea for printing might be to create an extra view, just for the printing purpose.
