    Supress error mesage

    Hi

I am using webservice to retrieve data from AD. When I enter a existing userid it pulls all required information. When I entered incorrect UserID (ID not exist in AD)

it gives wied error."SOME RULES WERE NOT APPLIED" and in description says "User does not exist"

How can I supress this message as its not at all user friendly & is there any way that I can provide custome error.

Also one important point is I can not use any C# code for this form.

I hope Microsoft has provided something for that.Thanks.

Hello, and welcome to the forums.

It sounds like you have a rule that is dependent on the Active Directory call. If the AD web service fails, then a rule isn't applied because the user doesn't exist. Can you check the rules in your form?

That is true that I have a rule and that is attached and that rules retrieves data from AD. Now if I remove this rule it will not retrieve data from AD.

Can I give user friendly message ? or

Can I make rule run only when user id exist ?

I am checking foe condition like IF UserID present or IF UserID not blank.

    Thanks

I'm stumped. The form isn't going to know whether the ID is valid until after the web service call. So by then it's too late to catch this via rules and supress the error message.

Is this a web service that you wrote?

    Thanks for the reply ErnestoM.

I had created webservice Data Connection & connecting 'GetUserProfileByName' webservice. After that I have dragged AccountName attribute on my form and passing UserID in that textbox to retrieve FName, LName & Email in 3 different textboxes. I have also checked checkbox "Update the value when the result of the formula is recalculated" on 3 texboxes so that on change I can get updated values.

Now whenever I am updating the UserID I am getting updated FName,LName & Email. But when I enter incorrect UserID it gives error.

Is ther any approach to retrieve data, if we can not supress this message?

    Thanks
