Multi-line sharepoint data in infopath: no line break!

    Hiho,
I am new to this forum and first want to say hi to everybody!

Currently, I am trying to import some data from a SharePoint list (customer's address) in
an Infopath 2007 form (invoice) and have some struggles with data from a multi-line text field
in SharePoint (address), because the data is shown as one line in Infopath: manual line breaks are ignored.

It looks this way in SharePoint:
    Maxman GmbH
    Poststreet 991
    1099 Citytown

    ...and this way in Infopath:
Maxman GmbH Poststreet 991 1099 Citytown

The textbox is filled from the SP list (secondary data source) through a simple rule.
All multi-line options of the textbox are set.

I have googled around for an hour now, but still have no idea how to fix this.
Does somebody of you have a good idea?

Thank you and greetings from Kiel, Germany!
    Andreas

    Hi Andreas and welcome!

It's possible that ShP is not using the same line break characters that InfoPath is using - to be honest, I don't exactly remember. But, before we give up, please try to look at the properties on your text box. Is it bound to an xhtml (rich text) field in your data source? Does it have multi-line and ther edit properites set on it. Please experiment with those options if you haven't already and let us know what you find.

Re: Multi-line sharepoint data in infopath: no line break!

    Hi Patrick,
    thanks for your reply!

    (1) I have tried to define the field in the primary data source as XHTML and replaced the textbox with a richtext box, but the line breaks are still ignored. Also, the multi-line properties are set.

    (2) Using a richtext field in SP and an XHTML in Infopath didn't work as well: The richtext box shows all the DIV tags from the sharepoint source.

For now, I use this character ";" instead of a line break in sharepoint and replace it with CRLF in Infopath. Not nice, but a first workaround.
