I've got a form designed in IP 2007 and I am attempting to get it moved back to 2003 for a client.
I have been successful in "Saving as 2003", fixing compatability errors/warning, and rewriting the code to be 2003 complient C#. So the form now works fine in a 2003 client. However, I am trying to get to a point where I can edit the code in a 2003 client.
I am totally new to 2003, so I may be off track on some of this, but here are my findings...
If I create a new form in 2003 and try to add code, it gives me a Javascript project. This is clearly a different model than I am used to.
If I use the form I am trying to edit, and "Tools > Programming > On Load event..." it tells me I have to close the form and use Visual Studio to open the code project.
If I try that (In VS 2008), I get the generic error "The project is unable to load the in-process host assembly or class" when opening the project and if I try to run the project (after it loads), I get "You cannot debug or run this project, becase the required version ot the Microsoft Office application is not installed." This leads me to believe that perhaps i cannot do what I want, because the project is referencing Office 2007 assemblies.
Has anyone ever done anything like this? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
