    Space in the entry field.

    Hi All,

I am working on a web based Infopath form. My form has multiple view for data entry. Every view has several entry fields and each field has its own business logic. I am making some of the fields as REQUIRED based on entry in some other control. i had written C# code behind for this and used out of box rules and validations.

My problem is that when the form control is set as REQUIRED and use enter spaces in this control, how to prevent user from entering blank spaces in the text control and force to enter some data.

I can check user entry on changes event by writing the code but for every control i can not write code as there will be a performance issue as well as there are large number of controls.

I observed that when there is some code written on the changed event of a control and i tab out from that control on my page, i can see busy process with message "sending data to server'. This is not acceptable from management point of view.

Can any body suggest a way to prevent user from entering white space in a control?

    thanks a lot in advance.

You can add data validation that verifies whether the entry begins with a space. See screenshot.

A bit tedious if you have a lot of fields, but easier than writing code.
