Serialize and Deserialize infopath form data

     Hello,

While working on a project, I recently met up with a little issue using the xsd.exe tool.
I found out it's really handy to convert mySchema.xsd to a cs or vb class.

It is indeed handy to do deserialization on it to retrieve infopath data.

But when I want to change the data through code (because sometimes things need to be filled out with data from a database through a webservice), I can't find a way to serialize the data back to infopath.

Is there an acceptable way, or do I still need to work with the XPath?

I already tried to set up a function with an xmlwriter thing but it asks me for a file and so on.

     Thanks in advance.

This week is the MVP Summit at Microsoft. Please be patient! :)

Using a Web Service is a best practice. Have you considered storing the XML as a blob in the database? That's what we do. Our Web service then maps the XML blob to the database tables and maintains the mapping.

    Just my 2 cents,

     Thanks Patrick.

     I'll be patient!

I am already using a webservice to save data to the database etc.
But now it needs to be done in a reverse way.

Using the xml as a blob can be understood as being the xml generated by the infopath form template, with al its sections and repeating data, these data's are then mapped to their tables that exist in the database and these do automatically maintain the datamapping?

If there is any sample code available for doing this, that would be great. I will search anyway, but a reply would also be welcome ofcourse.

     Thanks for your answer.

    Kind regards,
