How do I save a form to Sharepoint using code?

Here's what I am trying to do: I have a repository of change requests with an SQL server in the back end. Every time a release happens (monthly) a whole bunch of these CRs get implemented. Once implemented, we need to mark each of these CRs as implemented and update and save the xml form which is in the repository. We are thinking of updating multiple CRs at a time. I think we can do this in the database using an Update SQL statement but how do I save the corresponding forms which are in the repository? Currently we are opening individual forms, updating them with the status and clicking a button to update the Database and Save the form to the repository using rules. TIA, Shivaji
