    Data Connections w/email attachment

I currently have my form set up so that when the user submits, it generates an email and adds the form as an attachment. Works well but i'd like to remove the attachment step. Is there a way that i can change when the form is submitted that the form puts itself into the body of the outlook message instead of as an attachment? If not, i'll survive.

    Hello, and welcome:

You should be able to modify this in the data connection for the email submit. Go to Tools / Data Connections and select the data connection for your email submit. Click the Modify button. On about the second screen of the wizard, you have the option to send only the active view of the form rather than including it as an attachment.

It doesn't give me the option when I go to modify the connection. Does it matter that I’m using version 2003?

Here's how its setup...(1) I select "Submit Data" in the first step instead of "Receive Data" (2) I select "As an email message" as the way to submit the data (3) I type in all pertinent information, i.e. To:, Cc:, Subject, etc... (4) After I click next then I name the data connection and that’s the final step. There is no option to send only the active view. Wish there was though... :(

Oh dear. I hadn't realized that was new option for InfoPath 2007. I'm afraid then that your only option would be to write code for this so that the form information was in the body of the email. This post has more info.
