    Submit expected behavior

    Hi all,
Please forgive the newbie-ness of this question, but I am very confused. I have a sharepoint server and have created a form and created a new form library for it. When I "Fill out this form" and click my submit button, it says that the submit worked fine, however I see no changes in the form library. If I save/save as the form is submitted onto the site.

On the flip side, if I edit an already created form, I can click submit and again I'm told the submit was succesful but no changes were saved to the form.

My understanding is that submit will do the same as "save" except that it will enforce validation. What am I missing here? My expectaion for the submit button would be for the new form to create a new file in the library, and for the exisitng form to change the file already in the library.

If you need further explanation, just ask. I'm banging my head against a wall trying to hack my way through this.

    thank you in advanced

how did you set up your data connection for submit, did you run a wizard thats asked questions about your sharepoint site?

From your description i'm guessing you didnt and thats why you can only save to sharepoint

To set up the data connection I ran the Data Conenctions Wizard (Tools==>Data Connections==>Add). I defined the submit action to use the data connection I created.

When running the wizard I defined it as "submit" and point to a sharepoint site. I entered the URL when prompted and am using a field name for the Filename.

Let me know if that answers your questions or if you need more info.

    Ok, that should work then.

Did you tick you overwrite box when setting up the connection? I guess you did because you would of got an error message

Did you refresh the webpage? The sharepoint website refreshes itself after you use the "Fill out this form" button. It does not refresh after clicking a submit button a 2nd time.

I've got no other ideas sorry
