Hi,
I have a problem with infopath form template. I designed a form with secondary data connection. During the development this dataconnection became useless and I removed it and all references to it from the form template. I checked with 'logic inspector' that there are no more references to the removed dataconnection.
However the form prompts following error when I run design checker:
Invalid form template
The data source 'Tyopaikat_suora' referenced in the form template is not valid or cannot be found.

Can anyone help me with this?

Can you check that data connection name is available in manifest.xsf file? Some times in manifest.xsf available that ‘dataObject' node. Make sure that related data connection should not there in manifest.xsf file.

Check once you might be having that secondary xml file in Resource Files. (Tools -> Resource Files).

Hello,

What files you want to add for manifest.xsf? If you want those files as data connection then you have to take data connection using Tool -> Data Connections -> Add.

If you want those files in Resource Files then directly add in Tools -> Resource Files -> Add.

To re-create the .xsn file, right click the manifest.xsf file in Windows Explorer, and choose Design.  This will open the template in InfoPath and you can then re-save it as an .xsn.

But before that, I would suggest opening the manifest in a text editor, looking for any references to the problem data connection, and removing them.

I am suffering from the same situation.  It was caused when I removed the Data Connection Receiving from a SharePoint library.  I have executed the steps recommended (checked the logic inspector for references to fields/groups coming from the data connection, anaylzed the manifest.xsn for references to the Data Connection and to fields/groups coming from the data connection) but to me, there is no speck of reference to the Data Connection.  Yet, for seemingly no reason, it says that it cannot be browser enabled because it cannot find the Data Connection.

Any thoughts?

What is the exact name of the data connection? When you saved as source files, did you open manifest.xsf with a text editor and use Find to search for that exact name?

Wow you are fast!  I was about to delete my post as I have fixed my problem.  It turns out that the manifest.xsn is not the only file you should search for the Data Connection name as I found the reference in my view1.xsl file.

I'm glad you posted follow up info instead of deleting! Now the next person with this issue will know to search the view files as well....
