    xsn error

    Hi,

    I've just started working with Infopath the last couple weeks. I love the software however I cannot edit one of my largest forms now. I saved it last night after working on it. Now this morning when I attempt to design it I get this error:

    The form definition (.xsf) file contains elements, attributes, or structures that are not valid.

    Error details:
    The keyref 'ChangeSection1_5' does not resolve to a key for the Identity Constraint '{http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/solutionDefinition}xmlToEdit_name_key'.

    Line 216, Position 5
      </xsf:view>
    ----^

    I've extracted the cab and edited the manifext.xsf file. Remove all references to ChangeSection1_5 but that just begets more errors. I don't quite understand what I'm looking at here. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Colin

    Hi, and welcome:

    This happened to me recently when I changed the data structure of a form and then closed it when there were still errors in one view.

    You've removed the references to ChangeSection1_5 -- so what are your new errors? For me, I had several controls that I ended up removing from manifest.xsf before I was able to reopen my form in design mode. So I'd remove refs to the first control, then I'd get errors relating to another control. When I finally had all the controls removed, I was able to open the form again...

    Hi Thanks for the welcome and quick reply! Sorry for my delayed response. I did as you suggested and just dealt with each error as I encountered them. I had to remove 50 or so lines. Once they were all removed the form opened normally. Thanks a lot! This saves me quite a few hours of work. This site has been by far the most helpful for Infopath. As I've been learning Infopath I've taken reference from here quite a bit.
