    DAT Backup and Restore

    Hi,

I am working on a VPC(as dev environment) configuring the DAT and database mappings, is there a way to backup and restore the config of the DAT onto the live environment or do I need to redo the config in the live environment?

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

    Regards,

    Hi!

We have a tool for that, available here for free download. You can use the DBXL Migration tool to export your DAT configuration (documents, too, if you wish) and then use it to import the configuration to a different DBXL install.

Let us know if you need any help with it, okay?

Do you have DBXL installed in two different places, or are you just accessing DAT in two different environments?  DAT is simply an interface for DBXL's settings.  If you save a Doctype's configuration (with database mappings, etc), and then open DAT somewhere else, but from the same DBXL installation, those settings will still be in place.

If you are looking to move a doctype's configuration from one DBXL installation to another, that can also be done using a tool called the Migration Tool.  If that's the case, I can give you a bit more information about that.

Thank you very much. I will give it a go by the end of this week.
