Hi,

I followed DBXL v2.2 getting started guide but at the step 2 when I write  http://<servername>/QdabraWebService/forms/DAT/template.xsn to the browser it prompts:

Form template: http://<Servername>/QdabraWebService/Forms/DAT/template.xsn
The following form template for the form cannot be found: http://<Servername>/QdabraWebService/Forms/DAT/template.xsn

Can someone tell me what is wrong? Actually I dont even understand what is that template.xsn referring to?

You have to replace <servername> with the actual name of your server, or you can use localhost if you are accessing the service locally.

Hello, let me propose an alternative. In Internet Explorer, open http://<yourservername>/QdabraWebService/default.htm (replacing <yourservername> with the machine name where DBXL was installed). There you will find a link to the Administration Tool; click it and template.xsn will load in InfoPath.

Can you once check the port number of the web site on which you have installed web service. If the port nuber is not equals to 80, then your URL should be like this

http://<Servername>:<PortnumberofWebsite>/QdabraWebService/Forms/DAT/template.xsn

I installed DBXL again and I replaced the portnumber by :88. Now when I click this link to the DBXL administration tool it tries to open Infopath and tries to contact the server for information and asks for my password, but it doesnt accept the password I used in the setup wizard.  Which admin rights should this account have?

What does the BUILTIN\administrators mean in the setup wizard?

BUILTIN\administrators is a group name for the administrators on a computer.  If you are an administrator on your machine you should be able to leave it that way.

Are you by any chance using a browser other than IE? The forms will only load correctly if you access them from Internet Explorer, so if you are using some other browser, please try again with IE.

The DBXL setup wizard does not create an account.  The username/password supplied in the wizard is for the webservice to connect to the SQL database and for the Windows account IIS should run the webservice.  You should just use your normal machine logon credentials when connecting to the webservice.

To clarify Jim's post, you should not typically need to specify a username and password in the installer if your network service account is able to create sites on IIS and has admin access to your SQL server.
