Is there similar to repeating groups with being able to repeat?

    Hi there,

I have a quick, and probably quite easy question.

I'm looking for a way to be able to put controls into something similar to a repeating or optional group control, however, I don't want users to have the ability to insert new groups. There are 7 sets of records so I want 7 of these controls to put them in. They'll all get filled out eventually. This is more for screen real estate so it looks tidy when the user enters the form

It would be nice to have them collapsed to begin with and the user can expand which ever controls they like. But again, without the ability of removing or inserting any. they should just be able to expand and collapse these.

Does anyone know of controls that do this.

     Thanks for any help.

    Hello,

Do you want to display by default 7 repeating sections? Then you have to add similar nodes in template.xml then you will get by default 7 repeated sections.

For expand / collapse you have to add one node to repeating section by default should be false. You have add small buttons (+)(-) before repeating section.

    • 1. Whenever user clicks on + button you have to set ‘true' to newly added node in repeating section.
    • 2. On + button you have condition like newly added field value is equal to true hide this control.
    • 3. For - button also add rule and conditional formatting as reverse above ones.
    • 4. In onLoad, you have to write code to set by default all repeating newly added value should be false.

Note: Make sure that user doesn't have option to insert or delete for repeating section.

    Hope this helps you.

You can also modify the form's schema and change the minOccurs and maxOccurs attributes of the repeating node to 7, but either method requires opening up the form's source.
