    Auto-Save Function with Filename(ID)

    Hi Guys,

    Auto-Save Function with Filename(ID)

    My Question/Problem ;-) :

    Currently we are designing an Infopath browser enabled Form. And this one should when someone click on the "Save" button automatically save the form with the form ID as the document name. I have read this post http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/7051/25726.aspx#25726, but that doesn't help me much...

    Can someone help me out?

     You can insert your own button for this, have a "Submit" data connection to the form library, and add a rule to the button to execute this submit dataconnection.

     Hope this helps. Do let  me know if you need further information.

    Thanks,

    Paresh

    Hi,

     To Set the variable follow the steps given below:

    1. Click on fx button.

    2. In 'Insert Formula' window click on 'Insert Field or Group' button.

    3. Select 'Name' field and click ok.

    4. Until all the windows close.

    Hi,

     use concat function in the filename field. This will not submit the duplicate file names in the form. We can create duplicate forms with using only “Name” field in the file name. Use below function in the FormName field.

    concat(Name, "", now())

    Nameà Xpath for which field you want to display in the file name.

    Re: Auto-Save Function with Filename(ID)

    Hello,

    I am attempting to "auto-save" in the same manner.  After adding the button and changing the action to submit I'm clicking on the FX button to insert the field "NAME" which doesn't exist in any of my data sources.  Do I need to add another data source to get the "Name" field?

    When I look at the actual form library I am working in, the name field is inhereted from site content type:  "Document"

    Thanks in advance for any assist.

    Dave

    HI,

    If you want to display any one of the field information in the file name, then enter that field name xpath in the file name. Other wise you can use text like your "Form name" or "Name".

    concat(Name, "", now())

    Hi,

    How can we disable buttons of InfoPath Form Services (Save, Save As..., Close, Print View) if we do auto-save.

    Thanks

    3. Switch to “browser” tab.
    4. Uncheck “Save”, “Save As”, “Close” and “Print View” check boxes.
    5. Click on ok.

    If you are asking normal InfoPath form, then follow the below steps:
