Submit an InfoPath form to SQL db

Hey all, I am new to InfoPath and have been doing a lot of trial and error to get my feet wet. Currently I am trying to work with a SQL database. I can populate a form with multiple textboxes fine but when I try to submit (using a button, action: 'Submit') a form with multiple text boxes it only submit the information in the first text box and appears to ignore the remainder of the form.

Any ideas what I am doing incorrectly?

    thanks

    Hi,

Follow the below steps to submit the data to the data base using a button.

    1.       Take the main data connection as data base connection.

    2.       Take a button and change the action to ‘Submit’.

    3.       Click Submit Options, and choose ‘select data to a single destination’ and in the below drop down select data base.

    Thanks for the reply Swathip,

I have the 'Submit' setup as your described above and it works correctly but my issues is it will only submit the first textbox.

Say I create a form with 2 textboxes and have the both binded to rows in a database well when I preview the form, add content into the textboxes and then click submit; only the content in the first text box is inserted into the database.

    Any ideas?

    Hi,

Once try by deleting and inserting the textbox2 in the UI.

Are you submitting the data to one table or multiple tables?

Because I tried this in a sample and its working fine for me.

I am using 1 table, I had multiple tables that were joined through foreign keys but it would not allow me to have 'Enable submit for this connection' checked.

I tried removing the textbox and replacing it with a new one but still the same result. It is very odd, I tried creating a new form and new SQL connection but still the same result.

    Hi uffan,

You might have mistaken binding the textbox to the queryFields node and not the dataFields of your main data connection. When adding the text fields, a "Text Box Binding" window will show up. Make sure to select and bind the field(s) to the correct columns from myFields/dataFields/d:<your table>/<column> node.

hmm... I changed the data binding from queryField to dataField and it worked correctly but it caused my Sum() formula to stop firing.
