Need to evolve an "new from Data Connection" Form

I need to be able to evolve a form I created as a "new from Data connection" one.

The form submits data to a WebService and also queries the WebService.

The thing is that I'm evolving (adding/modifying/deleting) the XML schema of the element that get's submited to the WebService by the InfoPath form.

How can I add field elements (not attributes) to an already configured submit DataConnetion on the form ?

This is to keep in sych with the WebService and to avoid having to re-cerate the form each time I modify the WebService.

The only avenue I see as of this writing is to add new structure elements as attributes, no way to add fields, or delete fields etc

    Help !

    Guillermo

Re: Need to evolve an "new from Data Connection" Form

    Hi, and Welcome:

I know with a form based off a SQL or Access connection, if I open the Data Connections window, select my main connection, select Modify and walk through the steps again, I can then select any new fields now available in the data table for use in my form data structure. I'm wondering if the same is true for a form build off a Web service. Have you already tried this? Or have I misunderstood your scenario?

Thanks for the prompt reply !

That is the scenario, only that in your example the Data Source is a DB and on mine it's a WebService, but the need is the same; adapt the form to

the evolving data structure at the source.

You're absolutely rigth , by modifying the DataSource I see and can bring in the newly added fields.

    Thanks a lot

    Guillermo
