    Text vs Control InfoPath 2003

    Hey all,

    Here is the setup:

while any automobile is being operated by (Control RichTextField containing name with size set to auto and position tried on both justification and left).

Here is the print result differing from onscreen result:

while any automobile is being operated by
    John Smith
    .

How would I go about resolving this, I have tried everything i can think of down to the formatting paint brush and i am getting nowhere.

You could create a print view and use an expression box with a concat formula in it that puts together the beginning text, the field and the punctuation. However, I did create a little test form and tried this and I didn't get the same results -- that is, I typed some text and added a rich text box next to it, then previewed, and in print preview my text box stayed next to my text.

    Hey Hilary,

Thanks for the response.  It seems as though when making a standard print view it can not handle the complexity of the interactivity on the page that is getting printed.  The printed page is being chosen and populated from information chosen and entered on the master information view.    The strange thing is 4 of the views i have are showing up correctly but the other 24 are not.

Dang. I hate that. The places where it is printing correctly -- are those also rich text boxes?

    lol tell me about it.

They are all rich text boxes set to identical criteria from what I am seeing.  They are all sharing one data source so its not any type of data error pushing the size.

Okay, all sharing one data source.... anyway you can rig it to test so that the ones that aren't printing 'wrong' have the exact same piece of data as one that is printing 'wrong'? That will let you verify that there isn't some padding following, for example, 'John Smith'.
