InfoPath Cannot open the following file: error

I work in the tech support department and we have a user  who emailed out a .xlm file to a few people and everyone is getting the following error

InfoPath cannot open the following file: Bryant Recomendation.xlm

The following form template for the form cannot be found: file ///\\servername\xxx\xxxx\xxxx.xml

The odd thing is we have 3 users who can open the file and all 3 say "someone" from tech did "something" and it has worked since.  After asking everyone in our department who did this no one has a answer!  Does anyone know what needs to take place to open the file?

    (This is InfoPath 2003)

    Hello Welcome to the Forums,

Can you check once ‘href' is pointing to which location? Is it that location is accessible or not? Whichever specified the ‘href' value should be available your template.xsn otherwise it will give error.

Checking ‘href' location: Open your .xml file in any editor mode.

Please understand that this is the first time i have ever used Infopath or even heard of it to be honest.  I dont understand what the 'href' is?

The odd thing about the 3 users that it works on each say a desktop support technician did something to the local PC which was really quick and easy that made it work.  What they did no one knows or admits to doing it!  Is there anything that info path requires of the local PC besides InfoPath?

I checked the drives for a .xsn file on the working Pc's and non and I cant find anything?

    Hello,

For every xml we have ‘href' attribute with the value of location of the form is saved. To see this field value you have to open your form in editor mode.

Search for ‘href' keyword and then look that form url once. This value should be equal to published form (.xsn). If this value is might be wrong then you will get the above error.

You have to modify that ‘href' value to your .xsn file then save the form and then open it again you will not get any error.

    Hope this helps you
