    InfoPath 2k3 permissions question

    Hi everyone,

I'm dealing with an interesting problem involving the opening of forms with InfoPath 2003.

I have a Reporting Services Report Viewer on a SharePoint 2003 site which lists a load of InfoPath forms. A user clicks on one of these entries to open the form, does their stuff with it as normal, closes it, fine. It seems that restricted users in the domain i.e. users who aren't an admin can still see the entries in the report, but can't open them. Instead, InfoPath shows an Internet Explorer alert box as you'd see with a javascript alert("some message"); call, with the message "No permission to open this form.". The funny thing is, behind the alert dialog, I can actually see the form rendered by InfoPath with all the values filled in as expected - I double checked this with the xml source of the form itself. I can download the form and save it to the local machine and if I try to open it I get the same "No permission to open this form." message. As it is taking me in the direction of permissions, I gave Full Control permissions on the file to "Everbody" yet still can't get InfoPath to open it properly. It seems I have permissions to download it, save it and modify it, yet I can't get the thing to open and stay open in InfoPath.

    Any ideas?

You might want to check Internet Explorer Security.

InfoPath leverages this for trust.  There could be something there.

The sites for SRS and SP should all be in your trusted or intranet zones, and you might try both settings as I have seen them behave differently.
