Store image path in Sharepoint via Infopath 2007

    Hello!

I've created a document library within Sharepoint.  I've added a column of type hyperlink(picture).  I have populated this column with "/_layouts/images/ewr209m.gif".  Basically this is a green dot used in creating KPIs.  When viewed, it displays the green dot as expected.

I've got an Infopath form where I've stored this same exact value in a field, where the property is set to hyperlink.

    Two things:

    1)  Can I further define the infopath field as hyperlink(picture) so that when the form is saved the value is written to the library field and displays the green dot, exactly mimicing the Sharepoint column behavior?

    2)  Or should I create an Infopath field of a Rich Text format, and imbed the link as an "img src" tag?  Will this even work?

I really don;t want to store the actual image in the field...just the URL, and have it display as the image (green dot).

Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Hi,

You can achieve this by following these steps.

    1.       Create a column (e.g. Image) in form library as Hyperlink or Picture and for Format URL as drop down select picture.

    2.       Add a field (e.g.field1) in InfoPath form of data type Hyperlink (anyURI) and promote this field to SharePoint while publishing the form. While promoting follow these steps

    a.       Select the field (e.g.field1) that we have added.

    b.      For Site column group drop down select (This document library).

    c.       In Column name drop down you will find the column that we added (e.g. Image). Select that column and publish the form.

Now you can display images in SharePoint by passing URLs to field1 in InfoPath form.
