I need to remove or repair QDABRA - so I can get a fresh installation, there was a complication using the SQL that comes with SharePoint, So I uninstalled and set it up with SQL full version.

QDABRA seems to be installed but it fails to talk to the new setup so I decided to reinstall but I get : "count cannot be less than zero - parameter:count" and it rolls back.

I am not sure which version you have but there was an issue if you ran a repair from add or remove programs. It would break and you could not uninstall.

Otherwise if this is an issue with the install.

Verify you have proper access to the new Database and use the test buttons to verify your connectivity.

Give us a bit more detail where you are getting this error.

Yup I saw that and tried both the code and copying the file from another server - same result. The setup is cool right through to the finish - it's finding the SQL server no problem.

Are you installing DBXL v2.2? If so, read over the release notes and let us know if your error resembles any of those listed there.

Another thing to try is to go through the registry and remove all the Qdabra keys. A previous user reported success doing so when his installation was corrupted.

I downlowded 2.2 but the trial period expires in two weeks !

Ok, I've deleted every trace I can find, and still the installation knows it's a repair or uninstall rather than a new install?

I have indeed, that was the 1st thing I tried.
I may purchase a disk cleaner to find every trace of Qdabra, nuke it then start again.

Ok - problem solved - I used "Perfect uninstaller" @ $9 it worked a treat. Qdabra zapped and allowed a fresh installation.
