Hi, and welcome! Have you thought about creating another view for your form with your report information and using your report button to switch to that view? You could use expression boxes with formulas in them for aggregating your data from your Access DB, or have a view in Access that handles your calculations and just create a data connection to that view...

    Hi Hilary,

    Thanks for the prompt reply.

I am a newbie and I m learning at the moment.

What i need is to get a view of my data in access in table form in an infopath form.(I guess its just a matter of importing data and presenting it in infopath) but not sure how can i do it.

What do i need to do after i create a view.

Is there any documenation/link where i can get step by step instructions on this

You could use expression boxes with formulas in them for aggregating your data from your Access DB, or have a view in Access that handles your calculations and just create a data connection to that view................How to do this....I have no clue

The Microsoft Office website has a lot of step by step instructions. Look first for one on creating data connections, and then, after you have that set up, you can simply drag the group associated with the data fields onto the report. If you don't get anywhere looking at the MS site, let me know and I'll give you some detailed instructions.

    Re: Help with creating reports

Okay, when your form is in design mode, you can select from a variety of task panes (the panel on the right hand side of the application). If the task pane is not visible, select View / Task Pane  (shortcut is CTRL + F1) from the menus. By the title of the task pane is a small down arrow -- clicking that reveals the menu of task panes available. You want the Data Source task pane.

You can select the data source you wish to work with. There will be different groups depending on your data structure, but for your Access connection, you will probably see a group called dataFields, and under it the group related to your table. With your mouse, click on the group related to your table and drag it onto the design area of the form. You'll be given some options to choose from -- you probably want a repeating table. Of course, you will be able to change the format, but this default table will get you started. Click the Preview button to see what the table will look like when populated with data.
