Can I control the event/rules sequence when the form is opening?

    Let me better explain.

I have a form with some data connections that receive data; the form is wrote in IP 2003, so I cannot use offline capabilities.

My problem is that when the form open I have set up some rules in the open behaviours; such rules are using data from those data connections to automatically populate some fields and switch views. I have also wrote a simple script in the onLoad even that checks whether a certain site (to which the data connections are pointing) is available. If the answer is yes, the data connections are queried, otherwise a message pops up alerting the user.

Unfortunately, it seems that the rules in the open behaviour are executed before the onLoad event, hence they never find any data in the data connections because they have not been queried yet!

Is there any solution to this? Can I control the sequence of the events and tell to Infopath that onLoad should start BEFORE the rules in the open behaviour?

     Thanks!!!

    You should post your code

If you want to stick with rules, how about a rule to call your code and moving the OnLoad code into a separate procedure that is called from the rule?

If you want to stick with code, just remove the rules and add code to populate the fields and switch views.

    Hope that helps!
