Infopath Newbie here.

I created a repeating table in my form. everything is well and good from inputting data, to submitting to sharepoint. Problem is, sharepoint only displays that columns that I added upon publishing.
Since the repeating table allows users to add as many rows they need, is it possible to display x number of columns in sharepoint according to what the user added in the form?

I think we can’t able to create x number of rows in the share point for a repeating table. But we can promote repeating data in one column using “Merge” option in the promoted list.

Thanks. Will the form be autimatically merged or will the user have to initiate it?

Hi,

Repeating data will not merge automatically. We need to select “merge” option while adding promoted properties. Please follow the below steps to select “merge” Option.

1.      Click on “Add” button.

2.      Select Field from repeating table.

3.      Select “Merge” in the “Choose a Function to use on repeating dat” dropdown and Click on ok.

4.      Now publish the form to share point and verify the repeating data in promoted column.

SharePoint is a flat data source therefore creating a new row for each repeating table item is not possible.  Merging is the best option as mentioned above.
