where to keep the access DB

    Hi,

i made an infopath form with access connection.

i tried putting the access DB in the SharePoint where my form is also kept so everyone could open the form and see the data, but when i do a connection from the infopath to the access thats in the SharePoint i get an error that it doesnt recognized it as an DB. when i connect to the DB i give this path: http://servername/site/sitename/ListName/MyDB.mdb

(this link is only an exemple of course)

Thie is the error i get while using the data connection wizard. and yes, i choose recieve from DataBase.

    Error Message:

"An unspecified error occured while attempting to connect the data source. Microsoft Office Info Path supports only microsoft SQL Server and microsoft Office Access databases. please check the connection to ensure it uses one of those two databases."

if i put my DB in file server it works ok, but the problem is that the file server, only our team have premission to it, and i want to put the DB somewhere that the whole company could reach it (like in the SharePoint Server!).

can anyone tell how to this, or what am i doing wrong?

    Thanks!

Sharepoint has an issue with Access.

One thing also is to make sure that the location is writable for the users who need to use it.

Typically you create another file share that is accessible to everyone you need.

Re: where to keep the access DB

hi, i tried share the folder containing the Access DB but didnt gave a Full Control To the Domain Users, i got this message:

"This page access data on another domain. Do you want to allow this?

To avoid this message in internet explorer, you can add a secure web site to your trusted sites zone on the security tab of the internet options dialog box."

after this message they get a window asking for a user for the DB, after they press of the routing repeats and in the end they get an error:

"Form template: http://server/site/Forms/template.xsnThe following DataObject either cannot be created or cannot be initialized: CompanyPriceThe query cannot be run for the following DataObject: CompanyPriceInfoPath cannot run the specified query.InfoPath cannot connect to the data source.

    Operation was canceled."

when i give Full Control to Everyone or to all the users in the domain i only get the first message i wrote above that says "this page access data on another domain...." after pressing OK the form gets opened but some script i wrote to the OnLoad Fails.

i have 2 problems about this.

first one i dont want to get any message when the form loads and of course i want my scripts to work

the second one is that i dont want to give full control to EVERYONE, only READ Permissions, its bizzare to give Full Control to everyone on a DB.

is there some solution to this issue without using some 3rd party software or something?

    what it my options bassicaly?

    Thanks.

The server hosting the share needs to be in your trusted sites or intranet list in Internet Explorer for each client.

That will eliminate the first message.

You should be able to use domain users or specific names to secure the DB.  It should pass their local login, which should be their domain account through and they should not get a prompt.  Although this may vary between XP and Vista.  You might also check the data connection, I cannot remember if there are any settings regarding authentication in there or not.  I always have used SQL or SQL express rather than Access but it should be the same.
