    Form images are not displaying

I have a form (2003) that is being published to SharePoint.  When I preveiw the form locally the image shows up every time.  Once I publish the form, however, the image only displays the first time the form is opened.  The image was added via Insert -> Picture -> From File.

I have only been able to find one other thread on this forum that deals with this issue, but no one seemed to have a workaround.  Is this a problem that others are still having?  What else could I try?  Thanks.

I have had the same issue.

The solution was to move the image to a poublic SP library and insert it into your from from there following your method.

I bet on the first insert you picked the image up from your local drives.

    Thank you for your Help.

Thanks for the reply.  How do you insert an image from a URL?  I do not see that option.  I uploaded the image into a public library on SP, but when I go to insert an image there is not an option to use a URL as the source.  Thanks.

    Hi --

Are you talking about inserting an image into a picture control? When you add a picture control to your form, you have two choices, a control that stores the file with the form or a control that stores a link to the image. If you store a link, your form won't get as big (less data).

To insert an image from a URL into a picture control, you can simply paste the URL into the filename field in the insert picture dialog box that opens for you to select your image. If you are simply adding the image to the form as part of the template, however, the image will be added to the template files (you'll see it if you extract the files from the xsn).

Thanks for the information.  I did as you suggested, but the image still disappears.  It always shows the first time, but not after that.  I'm not sure why this wouldn't work, seeing as how the path to the image is hardcoded in the form.

Can you tell me more about what you are doing? Is this image part of the form template? Or are you talking about a picture control in the the form that users can attach images with?

The image is simply a company logo that is at the top of the form.  This is important because the form is being printed.

Okay, so it is part of the template. And to add it, you use Insert/Picture/From File, correct? Then browse to the location of the file? When I add an image to a template (IP2007), the image is stored with all the other files that are part of the template -- so when I extract the form files, the image is there. You shouldn't need to relocate the image to someplace like SharePoint. Have you tested with another form template -- just create a blank template, add an image, publish and see if the image remains? Have you tested on different machines?

    Hi,

I'm having the same issue. I'm using InfoPath 2010. Did Insert/Picture/From File.  I published it and can see the image file created under the folder but when I open the form being used in the application, the image is not be displayed.  shows up with an X.

     any help is greatly appreciated.

     Thank you.
