    Create a copy

Hello and thanks in advance for trying to help me - I am quite a newbie to infopath so I got stuck.

I created a form, which is published to a forms library on our sharepoint and this form also creates a filename automatically by asking the max ID and then adding 1. This works fine with "submitting".

There are now special cases where the user (using a browser-based infopath form) needs to create a copy of the currently open form with all the entries in it and save it as a new entry in the library. The "save as" would work, but is somewhat unelegant plus does not allow me (I think) to control the file-names.

I would love to add a button in the webform "copy" which creates a clone which then uses my normal "submit with automatical filename" routine.

    This is pretty straightforward.

For your standard submit move the formula out of the connection.

Create a field oin your form which uses the formula and therefore has the form name.

Then use this as the file name source in your data connection.

That way if it is a copy situation.

Have a rule which modifies the filename field and when it submits it won't overwrite but save with the new name.
