    Design Help

    Hi,

We are trying to develop a system in Infopath. The entry screen looks as below:

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    a          |     b       |     c   |       d    |

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    a          |     b       |     c   |       d    |

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    Image <img>

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    a          |     b       |     c   |       d    |

    -----------------------------------------------------------

We are trying to implement this with Repeating Table in Infopath as we need to save the data captured in the table in MOSS custom-list. However Repeating table comes with some serious bottleneck so far UI design is concerned (e.g we can not merge cells etc.). We tried using Layout table but we were unable to bind data with a layout table. Can you indicate what is the best way of designing the above UI in Infopath. Basically what we are trying to achieve is few rows with data and few rows with image.

Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

    Thanks and Regards

    Jeetu

While repeating tables have rigid structures, you can use Repeating Sections and then a layout table inside that which gives you much more freedom.

    Hi,

You can use a Sharepoint Designer to merge data inside a specific table in MOSS.

For Infopath, be sure to check the repeating checkbox on the data source.
