    OnApproval Event for InfoPath Workflow

I need to create a form that will go for approval, and upon approval (only 1 approver) write the contents to a SharePoint List.  I can create the form to a list, and kick off a workflow jsut fine.  My problem is how to write the forms contents to another SharePoint list upon approval. This list is from a legacy system that can't be changed, so submitting to a form library and promoting columns won't work.

     Any help?

    Hi, Mike:

What about using the Lists webservice in SharePoint? There is a tutorial here by Matt Faus that demos this...

    Hi Hilary,

I was using that article as the basis for writing to the list.  I guess my real challenge is triggering the event of writing to the list.  That is, how do I know when the form is in the approved state so that I can write to the list.

Talking to a colleague here, I think I would need to look at options I have in the MOSS approval workflow to do the triggering/writing.  I don;t know, it seems promising now.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Re: OnApproval Event for InfoPath Workflow

Thanks Hillary.  I did read that and it would have worked except... <always an except>...a new requirement was placed on me.  The list to which I am writing can only be accessed by a few people, who would not necessarily be the form submitters.  So, I had to think of another way to solve this problem.  I did post another question I had on this new way ... http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/8666/31046.aspx#31046

Hopefully someone can help me out with this one.  I think this new way will be able to handle all the requirements, even soem I haven't "gotten yet".  :-)

    Thanks!
