    Hello and welcome:

You can use sections for this -- In your new view, put each field and label in a section and hide the entire section using conditional formatting if the field is blank. So, in the first view, all the fields show -- in the second view, only the fields that have a value show. Since the label is in the section with the field, hiding the entire section will hide both.

Thanks! Hilary good idea!  but that means...lots of section?  and how the final form follow the second view's result?  I tried to show the result by using conditional formatting in second view, but  the blank nodes still in the final form there..    and Can the browser- enabled form use the conditional formatting?

It does mean lots of sections, yes. You can bind the section to the same field as your control, if you like, to keep your data source a little cleaner. I don't understand the second question: "and how the final form follow the second view's result?" You may need to have a checkbox or something for the user to indicate when they are finished filling out the form and then, if that that field is true, have the form open in "final" view, if I am interpreting the question correctly. I believe you can have conditional formatting in a browser form -- I just used the design checker on a form with conditional formatting that was set to InfoPath and InfoPath Forms Services for compatibility and didn't get an error.

because I need to use the form data in sharepoint workflow,  .....but yeah , it seems not big deal , I can still use the form xml file even it has some blank field that not been filled(just doesn't show it up)..  the check box and the conditional formatting  be supported in sharepoint form service?  and is it possible to setup some users only can see the second view in sharepoint.... ?(out of the infopath scope...?)

You may be able to use User Roles to handle the views -- Don't display the views on the View menu when the form is being filled out and for the people in a specific User Role, have the form open in view 2. I believe that conditional formatting is supported for browser forms -- you may wish to make a quick test of that.

Hi Hilary,  the section works, but the the form service doesn't support the user role, so ,  is there anyway to hide the 'clean blank' check box to some users so that they just can see the result after the power user check the check box? everyone can still see the blank items if they uncheck the "clean blank" checkbox now ...

why not have the initiator view have all the fields and then for subsequent viewing, display a second view only with those elements with data?

    Thank you for your Help.

I'm sorry, I forgot that you were using forms service -- just to have it posted, here is a link that shows available and unavailable features: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/infopath/HA102105871033.aspx. Isn't there a webservice available that will let you get the username? GetUserProfileByName? If you have MOSS, that is... http://blogs.microsoft.co.il/blogs/itaysk/archive/2007/04/05/InfoPath-_2D00_-Get-the-current-user-without-writing-code.aspx. Oh, and apparently, there is a function for this in IP2007: http://blogs.msdn.com/infopath/archive/2006/05/26/608092.aspx

One of these might help you get the user name, then you can conditionally hide your check box if other users open the form. I worry a little about the maintainability of this, of course -- if your group of users who should see the whole form is likely to change often, you may want to create an xml file with the list of user who should see the box and create a data connection to it, then your condition could be based off the data in the xml and you don't have to change the condition in the form when your user groups shift....
