I want to insert a header that is a table of information. I have gone through the header and i already have the page numbers on it and I want that to sat but add the rest. How can I do that?

I don't believe that header/footer allows for tables.

So what can i put in the header besides the page number and stuff like that?

you can put fields of information from your form in it.  They just do not allow tables to format how the data is presented.  So if you need a lot of information, put them in text boxes and then put them in the headers.

Field in the header/footer is a new feature to InfoPath 2007 and will not work in InfoPath 2003.

I do not believe you can put controls in the header. You can put a field in there (IP2007) and somewhere in your form have a text box that the user fills out -- then that value would display in your header.

I have IP 2003. I would like to have a text box that the user fills out in the form and then that value would display in the header. is this possible?

As you can see in Greg's post above, fields in the header are IP 2007 only. Have you thought about creating a Word print view for your form? I am still not clear about this. I tried the word view but i do not have or know what an XSLT file is. My main thing is that I need a field (text box) from the form to be printed in the header. I am using IP 2003. 

The reason I pointed you to the Microsoft link was because they have a tool you can use to create the XSLT that you can use for the Word Print View. It is a multi-step process -- you can use the InfoPath to Word Wizard to create the Word Print View, and then you can add the resulting view to InfoPath. Did you have a chance to try following the steps in the link? It looks a little complex and kind of intimidating at first, but it isn't too bad once you get into it...

Actually, unless Microsoft has updgraded that tool, the WordPrintView feature does NOT support headers/footer. So that's not a good avenue unless Microsoft has addressed that missing feature.

Sorry to bother you but,

I am floundering around the web trying to sort out how to get word print view working.

I have a large form, as I mentioned to you weeks ago, I have split up the large table, now have to load all the supplier detail into the customer purchase order, as I cannot seem to get a database submit on the form. Anyway I am working around that problem.

My BIG , and urgent problem now is, how to down load an xslt form an SDK data and eventually getting Word Print View to work.

Can you please help?

Word Print views are tough. Is there any way a print view in InfoPath could suit your needs? You can create a print view for a view in a form and only put the fields you want to have print on it....
