InfoPath Form & Data Connection Library security/password problem

I have an InfoPath form in a Doc Lib that pulls data from a MSSQL server. The form is connected to a Data Connection Library which stored the UDC files for my form. The problem is that the password is clearly displayed in the UDC files. What I was told it that the permissions for the Doc Lib (where the form is stored) should remain open to all the users, but the permissions to the Data Connection Library where the UDC files should be limited to only select people (admins). However when I make this change, users that do not have permission to that Data Connection Library get a Warning when opening the InfoPath form - the error says "An error occured accessing a data source." When I change the permissions to the Data Connection Library back to allow everyone, there are no errors in the form.

So, how can I either limit access to the Data Connection Library but still have it pull the data source for the form, or scramble the password in the UDC files that that users cannot clearly see the password?

    Thanks in advance!

Just to add some more information that may or may not matter: Web server proxy is not enabled (not sure where to start with it), and the UDC files are not in the Central administration.
