Custom Action - Automatically generate form based on values

    Hi,

I want to create a custom action on MOSS 2007 that creates an infopath form and fills it with the values in an custom list. The infopath form that needs to be filled out is actually sitting in a document library. I've figured out how to grab the values I need from the custom list, but I can't seem to be able to work with the form.

I have a few theories on how to acheive this:

    1. Action grabs the values and creates a url with all the values. The form then looks at the url and grabs the values.
      • The problem with this, is that it only works for one list item. I would like to be able to do it for multiple items in the list.

    2.  Action grabs the values and sends the data directly into the form
      • Not sure how to actually send it directly into the form. Perhaps create an xml file that opens that form up? But will MOSS let me create files?

    3. Action takes the value and sticks it into a hidden list. When the new form is created, it uses the hidden list as a secondary source, and loads up the form with those values
      • Really ugly solution. But it does the trick really easily if I were to use the submit option on the form to submit to the list. I'm still not sure if Sharepoint will let me submit multiple values to a list.

    Is any of this possible?

It sounds like you are tying to push data to the form.

I would typically just launch the form and then have the form pull the data from the list on open of a new form or via some other trigger at most then you only have to pass one parameter.

    Is this a browser form?
