Linking of two forms (Form linking)

Scenario: I have an Infopath 2003 form with several fields. I also have created a different form in Infopath 2007 and published using forms services to a MOSS 2007 library. On the Infopath form in 2003, there is a total cost field, which I want, if it is over a certain value, the user to access the Infopath 2007 form and fill out corresponding data. Now, it is easy to create a field in the 2003 form with a url to the 2007 form to fill out, however, when the user submits the 2007 form, I want the url that is saved in the respective 2003 form to be able to link to the saved corresponding 2007 form. Example: If I fill out a 2003 form and access the url for the 2007 data, when I save the 2007 form and save the 2003 form, the url field in the 2003 form must carry me to the data that was saved in the 2007 form, and not a blank 2007 form. I know it can be done, but I am not sure what to search for in the forum, or how to achieve it myself. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance.

    Hmmm....

This seems pretty complicated to have two forms.

A couple thoughts. You have both open concurrently you could maybe use code to pass the file name and path back to the originating form so it could be saved.

Probably easier is to just query the 2007 library with the 2003 form and use some common data to search the library, find the cooresponding form, and display the link to that form in the 2003 document.

If you used a date / time stamp.

Save a stamp in 2003 when they open a blank 2007 form and the user name of the user.

Save a stamp and username in the 2007 form upon open and promote these fields in the library.

You would have what you needed to link these two.

Same username and stamps within a second or less.
