submit button only working first time

    Hi there,

I am working with infopath 2007 , WSS 3.0 and displaying my forms as web pages.

I have added the same submit button to every single view with Submit in the Action. All the submit buttons are using the same data connection.

Now the problem is, the submit button is only works the first time in any view. The second time its pressed in other views it doesnt do anything,it doesnt even close the form.

     Any ideas please?

    Thanks

I am also having difficulties doing this see:

InfoPath cannot submit form (no error)

    http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/t/7856.aspx

It may just be that InfoPath forms are not meant to be submitted multiple times?

Do you have any conditions on the submit action?

I just got over this within my browser enabled form with a simple text statement.

If your creating a new form, hit SUBMIT

If your updating an existing form, hit SAVE (ensure save button is enabled in form options).

    done.

    Hi InfoPathN00B

All I did was enabling the "Show the Submit menu item and the Submit toolbar button" in Tools --> Submit Options

then you need to enable the toolbar in Tools --> Form Options --> Browser.

There are no conditions on the submit button it just has a rule and submits to a email data connector.

Stuck do you mean that you don't use a submit button at all and just specify what to do in the submit options and have the user go to File>Submit?

Also, I really need to show/hide components based on who is logged in, so the initator cannot see approver's button for example. This works but needs to be able to retrieve the user's current role in order to do this which cannot be done in browser compatible forms.

ThoughtDream do you mean that you used managed code to do that?

No InfoPathN00b, I'm using web based forms so there is no File, Submit.

Infopath has its own built in submit, close, save buttons. its in Tools - Submit Options.

I am quite aware of these but it doesn't seem to make any difference

I think you're talkin about publishing a form to a library and saving the resulting XML in it here. That's fine but when you submit it I want a notification email sent to a valid email address specified in the form. That user comes along, approves it or not, updating the form and sends out another notification email to the next person who does the same. Is this possible? I know it's possible to send email alerts out to a specified user when changes occur but I need the user to be able to select who the form goes to as this may change if people are off ill, etc. I've tried making it into an email form but have run into the same problem of it submitting only for the initiator?
