    Domain Permission Level error

I know I've seen discussion on this before but really don't see any solid answers.

I have a form that is published.  Some people get the "This form cannot be opened because it requires the domain permission level and it currently has restricted permission".

If a person goes to the library and clicks the "new" button, it opens fine.

If a person uses a link the the directory/forms/template.xsn, they receive the security error.

I created the form and when I click the link to the forms/template.xsn I receive the error. Yet some others do NOT receive it. There seems to be no consistency on who receives the error and who does not.

Why does it work when going through "New" but not the link?  Why do some people (including myself as the form creator) have the issue and others do not?  I have cleared out my temp files.

    Thanks!

    Check your internet explorer settings.

InfoPath uses these when checking permissions.

The server or site should be in the intranet or trusted security zone and check the advanced setting dealing with cross domain security, etc.

     Clay,

I've checked and the domain is in the trusted security site.  I'm not sure what advance setting you are referring to.

Again, the form opens fine if I go to the library. But if I use a link to the template, it doesn't work.   Seems very odd.

Make sure you have both FQDN and the short alias in the trusted sites zone.

    Brett,

    Have you resolved this problem?

I have the same exact issue with a Form that has been working fine from a SharePoint tab link until now.  I don't recall any changes to our SharePoint domain but now I can only launch the form from the New Document menu.  Unfortunately, this form is the main menu of our application and customers are not used to navigate to the library.

Please let me know if you have resolved this issue or if you have any suggestions, thanks,

    -Sandro

Has anyone resolved this problem? One of my users is experiencing this issue.

Did anyone ever reach resolution and if so, what did you enable or disable or was it something you added to your Trusted sites?  I'm currently having this issue on Windows XP with IE6 in an AD domain environment.

Hi. The killer solution is to sign your InfoPath form with a certificate issued by a trusted corporate or public authority and persuade your users to trust you. If you can't, double check your scripted actions (web service calls in OnAfterChange and the like may require Full Trust) and trust level in the Form Settings and include hosts/domains you use to retrieve/publish data in the Local Intranet or Trusted Sites zone. Re: Domain Permission Level error

I'm running into this domain security "problem" with infopath 2007 and finding it very frustrating.  The scenario I envision has our investigators each having a directory on their laptops that would contain several infopath forms (in addition to other files) they can begin filling out offline.  I want to have an "image" of this folder on a shared drive that could be copied onto a user's computer.  As needed users could update their image by copying the image to their computers.

How can I accomplish this?  I appreciate the concern with security but find it's getting in the way of my objective.  I tried using the Restricted setting as I don't need to access any data sources outside the form itself (I'm using resource files as datasources for dropdown lists) but I'm still getting the domain security warning and can't open the form. I don't see a way to bypass the security entirely.

I don't see an option to publish to a website via FTP.  Simply copying the template to the website doesn't circumvent this domain permission issue even using the browser security/trusted site setting mentioned above.

Any suggestions (or better yet, solutions)?  Thanks in advance for any help.

I have this problem now with multiple infopath forms, so that I stopped using shortcuts to the forms, and force the users to open the libraries and click NEW.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930892/en-us   does not fix the problem.

Not sure if this will work for you - but I was able to get to work:

    InfoPath 2007

Open InfoPath - Click "Design this form"  -- then from the menu bar select "Tools," "Form Options," "Security and Trust" - and then UNCHECK "Automatically determine security level (recommended)."

    Re: Domain Permission Level error

Is anyone else still having this problem?  I have a form with about a hundred users who aren't having issues...  And there is one person that is running into this problem.  When she opens pre-existing forms they open as read-only, however if she tries to create a new form she gets the "This form cannot be opened because it requires the domain permission level and it currently has restricted permission" error prompt..

I've tried everything that has been suggested so far and it doesn't seem to have fixed it...

     Thanks,

We still have it.   Our workaroubd is to make everyone open the forms library and then click new, instead of use a shortcut.

     That always fixes our error.

     Sure is ugly.
